Aultmore Estate is situated within the spectacular Cairngorm National Park in the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by mature forest and breathtaking views of the Cairngorm Mountains. Hiking, biking, fishing, and skiing are some of the recreational opportunities readily available; the Whisky Trail begins a short distance away; castles dot the countryside, and yet there are spaces within the twenty-five acre grounds for quiet contemplation.
The River Spey is only one mile away and is one of Scotland’s prime fishing rivers. Cairngorm ski area is fifteen miles away and there are several golf courses nearby. The area is famed for its bird life, with ospreys nesting close-by and the rare capercaillie resident in the adjacent woods. Shops and restaurants abound in Aviemore, twelve miles away, although one might want to stop in a pub or two in Nethy Bridge or Grantown for a touch of local flavour.
